Like many people, I am a 'Far-Away Grandma' and I desperately missed seeing my grandchildren. I needed more interaction with my family. I put my thinking cap on and tried to find a way where I could connect with them. Well, I thought. I’m an artist specializing in Water Colors. THAT would work! I could design and write a children’s book about the times I have spent with my family. So I did. And had it published. Well, kids loved it. They were able to personalize it themselves and share with their friends. But ‘What’s Next?’ I was ready to move on to my next project. I knew there were many, many other grandparents and grandchildren who where looking for a fun way to stay in touch. Maybe they could do projects together or maybe create special gifts for one another (heaven knows grandma doesn't need another sweater!). I stumbled upon Site Build It! and decided I really needed a website. Not sure why I needed a website but figured, “why NOT?” Maybe I could build a website to share my book and offer other ideas and products to help bring long distant families together.
I worked with a webmaster who gave my website the look and feel I wanted. I did the copywriting, and signed up with affiliates who offered products that would bring families together. And Voila! HERE I AM! The affiliates listed on my website basically pay me a commission if someone visiting my website buys their product. That includes Site Build It! (and they pay VERY well, I might add!).
