I’m a long distance Grandma and I miss my grandchildren. I’m retired and was desperately searching for ways to make more frequent connections with them. I taught piano in the past and had always thought that I’d be teaching them piano. It’s tough to do that over the phone… but I HAVE done it (although it’s not nearly as much fun).
I knew other grandparents MUST have the same problem (didn’t they?) We can’t ALL be fortunate enough to live in the same areas as our children and grandchildren.
I needed more interaction with my family. Well, I thought. I’m an artist specializing in Water Colors. THAT would work! I could design and write a children’s book about the times I have spent with my family.
So I did. And had it published. Well, kids loved it. They were able to personalize it themselves and share with their friends.
But ‘What’s Next?’
I was ready to move on to my next project.
I decided I really needed a website. Not sure why I needed a website but figured, “why NOT?”
I worked with a webmaster who gave my website the look and feel I wanted. I did all the copywriting. I'm selling my book on the website and I signed up with a number of affiliates who offer products that bring families together.
And Voila! HERE I AM!
My affiliates basically pay me a commission if someone visiting my website buys their product.
I’m fine tuning my site, adding more and more articles and affiliates but there’s that question again.
“What’s Next?”
Well now I’ve got another project.
I figured the very best thing I could do to see my family more often is to bring in some extra money. For things like plane fare and summer vacations and to contribute to their college funds.
One of my sons is a cross country truck driver. Things are rough for people in that profession with the economy and the price of gas. They really have to push their schedules and work 10 long hours a day. I worry about him so maybe I could find a way to help there too.
Well... Why not dream big?
Now, while I was doing my affiliate research I found that it takes a fair number of product sales to bring in any significant money.
But I actually found an affiliate that pays between a $1,000 and $12,000 commission on ONE sale!
This company supplies everything you need from a website to an incredible training program. I basically drive traffic to both of my websites and they handle EVERYTHING else for me (EVERYTHING!)
I’m very excited to be learning all this (I’m a very good student and I believe I have a very good coach). So I’m on to another adventure! I feel like a kid!
