As a teacher, I have always found children and young people fascinating: alive, optimistic....with unique approaches to life. Along with teaching in the classroom, I encouraged our own children in learning skills, classical music and the fine arts. This is my heritage, so it was natural to pass it on. Now, living far away from most of my grandchildren, I wrote "A Riverside Walk With Grandma", taking an imaginary walk together along the beautiful Columbia River that flows through our town. I look forward to the many lives this "far-away-grandmas.com" website will enable and encourage, introducing the next generations to life's precious gifts and the joy of living.
